About the Ombuds Office
FHWien der WKW has set up an ombuds office for students. Its purpose is to provide independent quality assurance. Students can turn to this office after having gone through all previous instances in case of applications and difficulties.
Objectives of the Ombuds Office
Students are given the opportunity to communicate to a body in certain cases, complaints or specific applications,
- which acts independently of instructions from the course-providing body,
- who is not the head of an existing degree program, course or program of the course-providing body,
- who has comprehensive knowledge of the legal framework for studying at a university of applied science.
Options for contacting the Ombuds Office
The Ombuds Office can only be contacted in the following cases:
- Exclusion of students from studying at the FHWien der WKW
- Negative assessment of a final examination in front of the examination board
- Non-compliance with the applicable examination regulations
- Violations of provisions of the FHG or subsequent binding regulations
- In cases of suspected plagiarism, the office will be contacted by the academic board and will issue a statement.
Requirements for a complaint to the Ombuds Office
All available internal instances must have dealt with the complaint in advance without success.

Consultation Hours
The Ombuds Office is offering consultation hours on site on the following dates:
- Thursday, October 24, 2024 between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 3, 2024 between 10:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 8, 2025 between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
