FHWien der WKW Nominated for Erasmus+ Award in Education

As one of three universities in Austria, FHWien der WKW was nominated for the Erasmus+ Award 2019 in the field of education. It was thus honored for its achievements in university mobility within the Erasmus+ program countries.

The three universities nominated for the Erasmus+ Award 2019 in the field of education were honored at a ceremony on December 3, 2019, in Vienna. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Österreichischer Austauschdienst (OeAD), the Erasmus+ National Agency, the Ministry of Education, Science and Research and the European Commission.

FHWien der WKW had been nominated as one of three universities for special achievements in Erasmus mobility. The jurors emphasized the internationalization of the curricula, the extensive network of partner universities and the high quality of student support. They especially acknowledged the fact that FHWien der WKW prepares its students for the global world of work through intercultural training and foreign languages.

On behalf of FHWien der WKW, Beate Huber, Chair of the Academic Board, as well as Barbara Zimmer and Doris Oberleiter from the Center for International Education and Mobility (CIEM) participated in the award ceremony. “With this nomination, FHWien der WKW was once again able to demonstrate the importance of internationalization at our university of applied sciences. We are pleased about the visibility of our services”, said Chair of the Academic Board Beate Huber.
