In 1997, Tilia Stingl de Vasconcelos Guedes, Academic Expert & Lecturer at our Digital Economy Study Programs and project manager of the “Learning Studio for Hybrid Teams” research project funded by the City of Vienna, founded the start-up Femtolasers with the current Nobel Prize winner in physics Ferenc Krausz and four other colleagues.
The startup focused on the development and commercialization of laser systems. Over the years, the team grew to 52 employees and in 2015 the startup was acquired by the major American company Newport.
As part of the founding team, Tilia Stingl de Vasconcelos Guedes was responsible for PR and marketing.
