November 18, 2021

Andrew Pullen and Linda Slattery, Competence Center for Business English at FHWien der WKW (CCBE), presented an innovative instructional model at the 34th IATEFL BESIG “Business as Usual” Online Conference from November 12-14, 2021. The annual conference brings together a diverse international body of Business English Language Teaching (ELT) authors, academics and practitioners.

They showcased a newly developed conceptual model for the step-by-step instructional design of team project work targeted at second-semester Bachelor students in both the Finance, Accounting & Taxation program and Management & Entrepreneurship program. The project learning activities were designed to build students’ academic terminology relating to the language of business growth and expansion and at the same time help them develop employability skills.

The engaging talk was very well attended, confirming international interest in FHWien der WKW’s meaningful contribution to the increasing body of knowledge on combining language learning with the acquisition of 21st century skills.
