On January 10, 2025, the starting signal was given for an exciting research project that combines art and research.
On behalf of the Belvedere Museum, a team from the Tourism & Hospitality Management Study Programs is conducting a study as part of the “Free Friday Night” event series. The aim is to determine the factors that influence individual well-being at such events.
Free museum admission – Who benefits?
The Belvedere Museum’s Free Friday Night Events offer a monthly opportunity to visit the Upper Belvedere free of charge and be inspired by a varied program of guided tours. These events during extended opening hours are designed to introduce visitors to the museum and its offerings.
The first of three on-site surveys of visitors began on January 10, 2025. The aim of the survey is to find out how these events can contribute to social participation and individual well-being.
This project aims to explore the benefits of such cultural events in the context of “museum wellbeing” – a concept coined by sociologist John Falk. The results of this study should not only contribute to the scientific debate, but also provide valuable insights for the design of future events at the Belvedere.
