The students from the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication had a spicy finish in their last business field project in the 6th semester with the traditional spice brand KOTÁNYI.
In cooperation with a real traditional spice brand, the Austrian family-owned company KOTÁNYI, the students from the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication from FHWien der WKW developed an eight-week campaign for an authentic quality communication, which was aimed specifically at the target group of 18- to 35-year-olds.
A visit to the plant
First, KOTÁNYI invited the students to a plant tour in Wolkersdorf in the Weinviertel region. There, the students visited the manufacturing process of the products and got to know the marketing department. Then it was time for the campaign conception. Six groups worked intensively on the strategy and the appropriate measures to convince KOTÁNYI of their ideas at the pitch. From social media and influencer marketing to interactive events and creative pop-up stores, a wide range of communication channels were used to bring the unique taste experience of spices closer to the young target group. The experienced coaches Ute Greutter and Martina Zöbl from FHWien der WKW provided active support and spurred the team on to top performance.
Pitch for the best concept before the marketing team
After two and a half months of intensive work, the individual teams presented their concepts in mid-May with a lot of initiative and creativity. The modern campaigns amazed the marketing team around client Dominik Mattes, Director Marketing and Innovation, and Alexander Artner, Senior Online Marketing Manager at KOTÁNYI:
“We are impressed with the creative ideas the students delivered. This out-of-the-box thinking helps us break new ground to move our brand forward. But of course, we’re most excited to see the best ideas actually become reality!”
The successful evening, which also included snacks, was led by a dedicated team of presenters. Congratulations on this great success!
