From practice to the classroom – tax consultant Alexander Stieglitz let the students of the Bachelor’s program in Finance, Accounting & Taxation work on a real, complex case on “Financial Criminal Law“. Mr Stieglitz is one of the leading experts in the field of financial criminal law in Austria and works for the international tax consultancy firm Mazars.
In his guest lecture, he presented the students with a real case from his practice in which he successfully averted impending criminal proceedings for a client. It was particularly exciting for the students when Mr Stieglitz pointed out legal structuring measures and at the same time clarified when financial offences such as tax evasion and tax fraud are committed.
