The specialization F&B (Food & Beverage) Management in the Bachelor’s program in Tourism & Hospitality Management found a very special conclusion!
The students of the 2nd semester met with experts at the Käseland at the Naschmarkt and were allowed to taste different kinds of cheese. Afterwards, they went to Heurigen Fuhrgassl-Huber on the outskirts of Vienna. During a tour through the vineyards and cellar, the students were able to gain exciting insights into modern wine production in Vienna. With its 600 hectares of vineyards, Vienna is the only metropolis in the world with a significant winegrowing industry and even has a local specialty, the “Wiener Gemischter Satz“, which was of course tasted.
This excursion marked not only the end of the semester, but also the end of the module “F&B Management” in its current form. Starting with fall 2023, the revised specialization “Food Entrepreneurship” will be offered in the new curriculum.
Many thanks to our lecturers Didier El-Senosy and Bernhard Koch for this great excursion as well as the long lasting cooperation!
