In the course “Value Added Tax and Transfer Taxes” in the 3rd semester of the Bachelor’s program in Finance, Accounting and Taxation an exciting guest lecture took place on November 23, 2020:
The topic of the guest lecture was the deduction of input tax according to § 12 of the Austrian Value Added Tax Act. In practice, the input tax deduction is of particular importance for every business company operating in Austria and is therefore a central topic in the education of the students.
The lecturers were tax consultants Mag. (FH) Michael Szücs and Alexander Wojciechowski, MA. Both lecturers were students of FHWien der WKW themselves and therefore know the course from their own experience. After graduating in Finance, Accounting and Taxation they went into practice and are now working as managers or partners in the tax consulting firm “Grant Thornton”.
This guest lecture was therefore a perfect opportunity for our students to be informed by experts about tax issues and questions of practical relevance.
