“Derivatives Advanced”: Presentation of the Bloomberg tool

May 16, 2024

FHWien der WKW successfully set up access licenses for Bloomberg in the winter semester 2023/24. Günther Kornfellner gave the students a first look and an introduction to the platform.

Bloomberg Terminal is the most established trading and information platform in the banking and finance sector, enabling major banks, financial institutions and institutional investors to execute securities and trading transactions (including equity, bond, derivatives and treasury transactions) and providing Bloomberg network participants with real-time data services, news, and corporate and economic analysis of the capital markets.

On December 14, 2023, our lecturer Günther Kornfellner presented the newly acquired Bloomberg software to the students of the 5th semester of the Bachelor’s program in Finance, Accounting and Taxation at FHWien der WKW in the course “Derivatives Advanced”. Günther Kornfellner is a lecturer at the “Wiener Börse Akademie” (e.g. fundamental analysis, company valuation, value investing and derivatives) and also works as a senior trader for equities and derivatives at Raiffeisenbank International AG.

Günther Kornfellner’s introductory course on Bloomberg was of particular interest to the students because he used practical examples to explain how Bloomberg works very clearly based on his many years of experience in the equities and derivatives business.

With the implementation of Bloomberg, students at FH Wien der WKW will be able to further expand their knowledge in the field of national and international securities and trading.
