Master students of the study program “Leadership in tourism” went on an exciting research trip to find out.
There are many instruments and methods to analyze a destination from its tourism perspective … SWOT, PEST, Destination Life Cycle Model, just to name a few. These analyses can also be created by means of desk research, but deeper insights into the relationships can better be obtained directly on site.
From March 22-23, the students visited the tourism sites and took part in expert discussions with the Bratislava Tourist Board and others, all accompanied by their lecturers Claudia Szivatz and Daniela Wagner. The aim was to find out more about the guest structure, which tourism offers and products are available for tourists, and which topics and campaigns the tourist board uses for the city’s marketing.
The results of the analyses and fact-finding missions will be evaluated by the end of April, further dealt with in seminar papers and subsequently submitted to the Bratislava Tourist Board.
This is what we can reveal so far: Bratislava is an exciting destination that has a lot more culinary and cultural art to offer than just for a day trip or for a stag night. More scientific results will follow soon!
