Digital solutions for the property industry

The representatives of the PropTech companies presented their solutions to the challenges facing the property industry in short talks and then in person at CEO meetups. These included offerings for practically all areas of the real estate industry: planning and visualization, project development, house and flat brokerage, security, investment and marketing.

From the business world to the lecture hall

Together with Ivalu, we have a strong partner that is networked with the most important players in the PropTech scene,’ says Klemens Braunisch, Head of Real Estate Management Study Programs, who is delighted with the joint event. ‘With the Digital Real Estate Day, we have brought practice directly into the lecture hall! Our students gained an insight into the rapid digitalization of the real estate industry. And they learnt about state-of-the-art products, services and software that will shape their professional development.’ It was particularly pleasing that the speakers from PropTechs IMMOunited and Orea are students at FHWien der WKW.

New opportunities for the industry

The event was rounded off with a panel discussion on ‘Desire and reality – the status quo of digitalization in the real estate industry’. The following experts took part in the discussion:  Jörg Buß (Austrian PropTech Initiative), Matthias Branstetter (Immo Scout24), Bernd Wagner (ARWAG) and Klemens Braunisch (FHWien der WKW). The panelists spoke about the technology already widely used in their industry. A lot has happened, especially in the marketing sector and in terms of visualization options. In the past, renderings had to be created by hand or texts had to be produced, but now this can be done at the click of a mouse.

The experts agreed on the two most important effects of digitalization: people’s imagination can be expanded and planners, salespeople and brokers, as well as customers, benefit from enormous efficiency gains. Above all, the many possibilities of data management systems can be utilized with AI. By connecting the entire ecosystem (CRM system, land register data, prices, etc.) and linking a wide variety of systems, the speakers expect exciting developments in the future.
