On October 15, 2021, the cooperational study of the Institute for Digital Transformation and Strategy (IDS) at FHWien der WKW with the TU Wien will be presented and first results are already available.
The 2021 founded Institute for Digital Transformation and Strategy (IDS) at FHWien der WKW is dedicated to practice-oriented issues surrounding the significant demand for change that digital technologies generate in society, business and organisations.
One of the first IDS cooperation projects is “Made in Austria: Future of Production in Austria” with the TU Wien. For the third time now, over 100 leaders of Austrian industrial companies were surveyed for this on the following areas:
- Situation of the company, the market, competitiveness and
- application of robotics and assistance systems
The aim of the survey is a regular and methodical presentation of the status quo as well as the future expectations of domestic industry. The topics of automation, digitalisation and assistance systems play a central role. As the initiator of the industry panel and head of the Institute for Management Science at the TU Wien, Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Schlund advocates the founding of the IDS at FHWien der WKW and describes the first collaboration as “an important step towards consolidating the digital transformation in Austrian companies across the board”.
Industry 4.0 in times of COVID-19
The first results of the current study show that assistance systems have finally arrived in Austria’s production companies. The increased use of digital assistance systems for workplace learning is also due to the trend towards digital learning triggered by COVID-19.
