In December, students on the Bachelor’s program in Finance, Accounting & Taxation once again chose two of four possible specializations for their final year of study.
Prior to this, the Head of the Study Program, Dr Thomas Kaufmann-Lerchl, offered an information event on the possible electives. The four available specializations were explained in detail and the career opportunities for graduates were discussed. For the first time, the new curriculum offers a choice of topics:
- Tax Consultancy
- Auditing
- Financial Markets and Sustainability
- Controlling and Business Analytics
During the information event, all four specializations were presented in detail, and the advantages and special features of the individual modules were explained.
After the presentations, there was still time to answer open questions. The international reference proved to be particularly important for students, as this is considered in all specializations offered. There were also frequent questions about the technical systems underpinning the specializations. The use of modern systems in teaching, such as Bloomberg, SAP HANA or Business Intelligence solutions, ensures an interesting and practice-orientated education.
With regard to the different combinations of the two chosen specializations, all variants are recommended, because combinations of specializations that appear atypical at first glance are particularly valuable later in practice and thus on the job market.
