“Leadership – Next Gen” was the motto of a meeting between young and future executives from the Viennese hotel and restaurant industry.
High staff turnover, limited career opportunities, difficult working conditions and high bureaucratic obstacles are just some of the challenges the industry faces. Yet, the focus of this evening lay not on difficulties, but on solutions.
- Stefanie Augustin (Resident Manager of the Holiday Inn Vienna City) and Julia Neuhold (GM Wombats at the Naschmarkt) rely on a cooperative leadership style and job enrichment for their co-workers.
- Karoline Winkler (Querfeld Betriebe) gave valuable insights into the employer branding process, which aims to strengthen the identification of their employees with the Viennese coffeehouse culture and thus with the company.
- Lucas Babuder, founder and owner of the karaoke bar Babuder’s, where the meeting took place, sees the added value in the personal interaction between employees and regular customers as particularly motivating.
