Expectations of GenY and GenZ of tax advisors of the future

July 3, 2018

Students of the Bachelor’s degree program “Human Resource Management” researched the expectations of the GenY and GenZ of tax consultants.

Digitization is changing the world of work and also the processes and instruments of tax consultants. As part of an empirical research project, the students of the Bachelor’s degree program “Human Resource Management” examined  the expectations of GenY and GenZ tax consultant customers on behalf of TPA Austria. TPA Austria is one of the leading consulting and tax advisory companies in Austria and Europe offering tax consulting and auditing services.

In the integrative module Business Research, on the one hand, scientific methods are theoretically taught and  applied practically to projects. The six student project groups conducted around 37 interviews with GenY and GenZ customers in the summer semester of 2018.

As part of the final presentation, the findings were discussed with representatives of TPA. The empirical results clearly confirm that tax consulting remains a “people business” in which face-to-face contact is considered particularly important. The aspects of trust and personal relationship are perceived as particularly important to GenY and GenZ customers and potential customers.

The project groups are supervised by Mag.a Barbara Covarrubias Venegas and Maija Worek, MSc (Human Resources & Organization Study Programs at FHWien der WKW) as well as Dominik Fröhlich (University of Vienna).
