From February 9 to 10, 2025 students from the first semester of the Bachelor’s program in Tourism & Hospitality Management took part in the prestigious 17th European Mise en Place Cup in Maastricht, Netherlands. They were accompanied by coach Andrew Pullen, who provided them with advice and support. Our four students Ana Peric, Hannah Reithofer, Kate Melcher and Ilja Ratner represented FHWien der WKW in a worthy manner.
The EMCup is considered one of the most important competitions for European hotel management schools and offers participants the unique opportunity to demonstrate their skills and make valuable contacts in the industry. This year, a total of 29 international tourism schools competed against each other.
Well-Being, not just words – actions!
This year’s competition focused on the topic of “employee wellbeing” – a highly topical issue in the dynamic working world of the hospitality industry. The teams were challenged to develop innovative strategies to promote the vitality, resilience and motivation of employees and to create a balance between work and private life.
During the two-day event, the FHWien der WKW team had to face various challenges. They presented their innovative ideas to a high-caliber jury of industry experts, demonstrating not only technical expertise, but also creativity and team spirit in dealing with the challenging topic.
FHWien der WKW in the top 5
The 5th place in this highly competitive competition is an extraordinary achievement of which the entire team can be very proud. It shows that our students are among the best in Europe and are prepared for a successful career in the international hospitality industry.
We would like to congratulate Ana, Hannah, Kate and Ilja once again on this great success and would also like to thank lecturer Andrew Pullen for his outstanding support. You have represented FHWien der WKW!
