Jessica Huf won the Award Best Meeting Thesis of the Austrian Convention Burea (ACB) for her Bachelor thesis
It has already been the sixth time that the Austrian Convention Bureau (ACB) awarded the Award Best Meeting Thesis for special academic works in the Meeting Industry. This year Jessica Huf, graduate of the Bachelor’s Program in Tourism & Hospitality Management and Student of the Master’s Program Leadership in Tourism and Hospitality, won the award on 3rd October 2018 with her Bachelor thesis on: “The implementation of the Experience Component in the Austrian Convention and Meetings Industry.”
Researchers and conference experts discussed the submitted themes, e.g. about complaint management in social media, safety at congress destinations or special experiences at conferences and the needs of generation Y, at the Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen Vienna. Every thesis was reviewed in detail by 6 people regarding relevance and benefits for the industry as well as quality of the content.
In her Bachelor thesis Jessica Huf examines various possibilities of how to create special experiences at congresses. The thesis contains a comprehensive literature research as well as five interviews with Austrian organizers of economic congresses showing which possibilities are used in reality. It is shown that design, interior decoration, scientific programs and framework programs have a high potential for creating special experiences.
