HRO expert Dr. Barbara Covarrubias Venegas gives a keynote speech at the Future Congress 2019 in Berlin.
The Study Area Human Resources & Organization is very pleased that their internal HR expertise is in international demand. Dr. Barbara Covarrubias Venegas, researcher and expert on New Work Environments, was invited to give a keynote lecture at the 7th Future Congress State & Administration, the leading event of the Public Sector for Digital Change.
The fully booked three-day conference, was held for the 7th time and gathered over 1500 participants. The conference addressed the effects of digitization and globalization and in particular the need for government and administration to face up to the speed of these changes and close the digital gap between developments in private sectors and the public sector.
Fundamental questions of structures, organization and processes, leadership and human resource management with the new possibilities of disruptive technologies were strategically targeted. Barbara Covarrubias Venegas held a keynote speech entitled “On the digital world of VUCA and a dynamic public administration: What competencies do leaders and employees need?”. The workshop focused on which competences, but in particular behaviour patterns and mind-sets, are essential in flexible, new working environments (e.g. personal responsibility, entrepreneurial thinking, intrapreneurship, proactivity, the ability to organise oneself, error culture, self-directed learning, etc.).
Because: “Digitalization is not about technology. It’s about people.”
