Innovative digitalization solution for day-to-day care for the Red Cross of Lower Austria

February 13, 2025

Students of the Master’s program in Marketing & Sales Management have developed digital concepts that make everyday care more efficient and easier.

In the winter semester 2024-25, students of the part-time Master’s program in Marketing & Sales Management at FHWien der WKW developed digital solutions to support care in a business field project with the Red Cross of Lower Austria. They first analyzed the requirements for a digital platform for caregivers and those in need of care using questionnaire-based surveys and data analyses. Based on the in-depth market research and strategic analysis, the students developed a comprehensive digital strategy that combines technological innovation and social responsibility. The three student teams were supported throughout the process by project coach Karin Lehmann and senior researcher David Bourdin.

Enthusiasm about the digitization concepts

In a final pitch, the teams presented their digitization concepts to the clients Hannes Buxbaum, Philipp Pechhacker-Martinek and Nina Marsalek in a professional setting.

Hannes Buxbaum, member of the regional management and Director of Health and Social Services at the Lower Austrian Red Cross, is delighted with the results:

“We are very impressed with the work that the students have presented. Thanks to their efforts, we now have certainty about some assumptions we had and great ideas for the future. I can’t wait to share how successful our collaboration was at our report meeting with our President!”

This business field project shows how FHWien der WKW promotes forward-looking approaches and addresses social challenges through innovative solutions.
