On February 27, 2025 Bachelor students of the Tourism & Hospitality Management study program at FHWien der WKW were given an exclusive insight into the world of the travel industry. As part of the specialization “Management of Tourist Transport”, they visited the headquarters of Columbus Reisen, one of Austria’s leading travel companies.
Managing Director Philipp Schauer and Consultant Helga Engl-Wurzer personally took the time to give the students an insight into the diverse aspects of the travel business. The program included not only the long history of this traditional travel sub-company, but also practical tips from the daily business of the travel agency and tour operator.
The visit to Columbus Reisen offered the students valuable insights into tourism practice. They were able to experience first-hand how a successful travel company masters the challenges of the industry and develops innovative solutions without forgetting its traditions.
Such practical experience is an essential part of the Tourism & Hospitality Management study program at FHWien der WKW and prepares students optimally for their future careers in the dynamic tourism industry.
