FHWien der WKW students visited an International Startup Week in Tel Aviv
The opening presentation “Israel as a Startup Nation” by Prof. Dafna Kariv (Vice President for Global Development, the COLLMAN) provided excellent insights into why Israel is famous for its start-up scene.
The students then attended a workshop on the Business Model Canvas. In the course of the week, students worked together in international teams on concrete business ideas. On the last day, after being coached on “How to pitch an idea”, students finalized the presentations on their business plans. The highlight of this day were the 5 minute pitches delivered by each team in front of a panel consisting of entrepreneurs and teachers from the College.
During this week we also visited several “tech start-ups” and an innovative “co-working space project” in Tel Aviv. An excursion took us to the south of Israel, we stopped at the city of Beer Sheva, where we had the chance to meet with startups in a “cyber security incubator”, followed by a presentation and factory tour at sodastream.
