Literature Review of the CR4SME project published in the Journal of Cleaner Production

September 21, 2018

The Literature Review of the CR4SME project, which is funded by the City of Vienna, has already provided the basis for numerous articles on practical issues. Now it has been published in the Journal of Cleaner Production.

More than 20 years ago, the term “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR) in connection with corporate strategy was introduced into the scientific literature. Since then, a large number of different definitions of CSR have been shaped. To explore the jungle of formulations and to examine them for entrepreneurial practice, the CR4SME („Stadt Wien Kompetenzteam für nachhaltiges, strategisches und chancenorientiertes Management von KMU”) has compiled the definitions of CSR used in the literature with regard to their practical significance for SMEs and summarised them into four Motives.

The results of this literature review have now been published in the prestigious Journal of Cleaner Production. A well-founded analysis for all those who want to engage in more detail with the hot topic of “corporate sustainability”.
