Students in the 3rd semester of the Bachelor’s program in Digital Business at FHWien der WKW started this year’s practical project together with LAOLA1 and Cheeer.
In October, Tom Berger, Head of LAOLA1, Philipp Pilatowicz, Head of Partnerships Cheeer, and Sebastian Kunc, Deputy Head of Operations LAOLA1, were guests and clients at the kick-off of this year’s practical project of the 3rd semester of the Bachelor’s program in Digital Business.
Kick-off – serve – slope free!
With their creative and innovative ideas, the students will contribute to the development and improvement of the brand new Metaverse fan zones for soccer, tennis and ski fans on the LAOLA1 platform. The aim of the course, led by Josef Frysak, Gerald Schneikart and Tomas Jiskra from the Digital Business study program, is to give students their first insights into real project and process management. The students also gain practical experience of working with real corporate partners.
After each guest lecture, there was an open question and answer session in which students could not only ask questions about their project work, but also about the companies’ business models, their backgrounds and customer expectations. This led to intensive discussions and made the course even more interactive.
Feedback and visions from the field
For Philipp Pilatowicz, it quickly became clear: “The students were not afraid to ask questions. You could sense their motivation, which is important for us as a cooperation partner. You have to dare to question existing processes. Both Cheeer and Laola1 are fans of courage and direct criticism, so it’s good when students give honest feedback.”
The Head of Partnerships at Cheeer is convinced “that the critical way of thinking and working is maintained in the project and – if necessary – established processes are also broken up. We want to know where the students see our strengths and weaknesses in order to remain in the position of first mover when implementing the project results”.
