New Head of Program has a comprehensive background in re-search

December 20, 2018

The new head of program for Human Resources & Organization both carries out research and teaches about the changeability of companies.

FH-Prof. Mag. Dr. Christina Schweiger took over as head of the program in Human Resources & Organization on December 1, 2018. For the past few years she worked in the research cluster at FHWien der WKW and has carried out various research projects funded by the FFG (COIN) and MA23 about strategic changeability in companies.

As reported in derStandard (a well-known Austrian newspaper), in her last project which was funded by MA23, she worked together with Alexander Engelmann, Renate Kratochvil and Barbara Kump to determine which changes slow down companies and what can be done to stop this from happening. Coinciding with this project, a qualitative longitudinal study with five SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises), two accountancy firms, one bookstore, one innovation agency and one manufacturing company was carried out. The first step to improving the strategic changeability of companies is to become aware of hidden patterns from within the organization and to make these transparent. Small steps can then be taken to break the patterns and towards introducing new, changed patterns.

As head of the degree programs Human Resources Management (Bachelor) and Organizational & Human Resources Development (Master), Christina Schweiger will make sure that the results of her research are made use of in her teaching.
