Right at the start of the new semester, students on the Bachelor’s program in Human Resources Management at FHWien der WKW embarked on an exciting practical project. Together with kununu, the leading employer rating platform in the German-speaking world, the students are diving deep into the world of employee development. The project goal is ambitious: kununu should be perceived as a pioneer that promotes continuous learning and personal development as an integral part of its learning and development culture.
Kick-off at kununu in Vienna
The project kicked off on February 28, 2025 with a kick-off meeting at the offices of New Work Austria, kununu’s parent company. Representatives of the practice partner gave the students an insight into the company, the corporate culture and the challenges in personnel development.
Focus on future-oriented employee development
kununu faces the challenge of developing employees in an efficient and future-oriented manner. In times of rapid learning, constant change and steady growth, an authentic learning culture is crucial to maintaining competitiveness. This is where the students at FHWien come into play.
Six topics, six teams, one goal
The students are divided into six groups, each dedicated to a specific topic. The focus will be on various topics such as future skills, learning formats, team learning and the measurement of soft skills.
Each team will develop concrete recommendations for action for kununu, including communication and implementation schedules. The students work in a self-organized manner and use a variety of methods such as literature research, best-practice analyses, market analyses, surveys, interviews and creative techniques.
Close cooperation with kununu
Throughout the project, the students will be in close contact with the client Leonard Miesbauer, Director of Organizational Development and Enablement at kununu: “We are looking forward to the innovative solutions from the FHWien students! We are looking forward to the students’ concrete recommendations for action, which will help us to position kununu as a pioneer in employee development.”
Regular status updates and optional meetings with kununu allow students to clarify questions and coordinate their approach.
The students will present the results of their work on June 27. In addition to representatives from kununu and New Work SE, the CEO of kununu, Nina Zimmermann, will also be present.
