On November 14, 2024 an exciting presentation of the preliminary results of a practice project was held at Tulln Town Hall as part of the ‘Consultancy Project’ course in the Master’s program in Urban Tourism & Visitor Economy Management.
Since September, a group of five dedicated students have been working intensively on the question of what economic effects the city of Tulln’s cultural investments has and how these can be increased. The Donaubühne theatre and the Danubium are just two examples of the numerous cultural facilities that Tulln has to offer. But how much do these facilities actually bring to the city?
The students’ presentation to the tourism marketing managers of the city of Tulln offered an interesting insight into the results of the extensive analysis. Under the guidance of Academic Expert & Lecturer Andreas Minichberger and Thomas Pfeifer from Statistik Austria, the students collected and analyzed data to get a clearer picture of the direct and indirect income from cultural investments and events. This is not only important for the city administration, but also for local entrepreneurs and cultural professionals who could benefit from a flourishing cultural scene.
The representatives of the city of Tulln were enthusiastic about the well-founded analysis and the coming months will show how these findings can be translated into concrete measures. In any case, the research results offer valuable approaches for optimizing future investments in the cultural sector.
