For the research project “Allah”, the students of the Master’s program “Journalism & New Media” dealt in detail with the subject of religion and faith.
At the project presentation on March 8, 2019 at FHWien der WKW they showed a selection of their work: With “Queer in Islam”, genital mutilation or Arab tourism in Zell am See, the students also devoted themselves to less present topics and proved the width of the project.
What does Austria believe in?
What do people think about God? How important is religion to them and when is it misused as a pretext? What separates the world religions Christianity, Judaism and Islam – and what unites them? Based on these questions, the students not only talked to believers and priests, but also went in search of concrete numbers – the religious composition of Austrian society had not been surveyed since 2001.
