Ready for your own gastronomy business?

The 5th Gastro Founder’s Day at FHWien der WKW gave exciting insights into a dynamic industry.

With around 120 participants, the 5th Gastro Founder’s Day was a complete success. The annual event offers a platform for the exchange of knowledge and for discussions about obstacles and challenges, when founding your own gastronomy business.

Dr. Hans Georg Kantner (KSV 1870) and Manfred Ronge (Ronge and Partner GmbH) explained why even the best concept can fail if realised poorly.

Bora Höllermeier, owner of the restaurant “Han am Stadtpark”, and Rita Huber, owner of the delivery service “Rita bringt’s” impressively described how to market a restaurant with a marketing budget of zero and that traditional creditors such as banks like to finance gastronomy businesses – if the concept is well prepared.

Finally, Luigi Barbaro jr. (Trattoria Martinelli, Pizzeria Regina Margherita) explained how exciting it can be for a family member to work in a well-run family business.

A trend market of students presented highly interesting current innovations. There was a lot to discover and taste, including insects, lucky drinks and slow food soups.
