This year’s excursion abroad for the Real Estate Management Study Programs took us to Switzerland, specifically to Zurich and to our partner university HSLU in Lucerne.
Interested Master’s and Bachelor’s students from the Real Estate Management Study Programs, as well as Head of Real Estate Management Study Programs Klemens Braunisch, Academic Expert & Lecturer Carmen Dilch and Jenni Wenkel, Chairwoman of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in Austria, spent three intensive days getting to know the Swiss real estate market. In addition to specialist excursions and lectures at the partner university HSLU Lucerne, the program included networking with key players in the Swiss real estate industry and local students.
The real estate service provider CBRE gave an insight into the commercial real estate market and explained the specific market conditions of the investment and rental market in Switzerland. The real estate agent Engel & Völker presented the Swiss residential real estate market and also addressed the job profile of real estate agents, the property market and the topic of sustainability in the residential real estate sector.
Site visits and city tour
One of the highlights was the excursion to a 2000-watt project in Zurich. The 2000-watt certificate stands for energy efficiency, renewable energies and climate friendliness. But it also stands for sustainable mobility, an attractive living environment and high-quality buildings. An important source of inspiration for our students!
The presentation of the Lucerne transit station project by coordinator Sabine Ruoss was also very interesting. The project, which is currently in the planning phase, is intended to create capacity in the currently fully utilized rail system and thus enable new, more direct and faster rail connections in the future. The “Rösslimatt” development project with two construction sites was also visited. A new university site is being built here. The client representative, Mr. Reuther (SBB), showed the status on the construction site and explained the cooperation between the client, planners and construction companies as well as the future users in detail.
The excursion was rounded off with a visit to the HSLU Lucerne and a guided tour of Lucerne, including a discussion by Prof. Dr. Michael Trübestein. Numerous Swiss students also took part in this tour of the Swiss National Museum, the “Wohnen am Gleismeer” project, as well as the Europaplatz bicycle station and the architecturally interesting Negrellisteg pedestrian bridge.
Many thanks for the numerous participation of our students! We would especially like to thank FIABCI Austria for arranging the presentation on the 2000 Watt project and our sponsors ImmoUnited, CBRE, GEDESAG and DMV Medien. The partnership with the HSLU Lucerne and in particular Prof. Dr. Trübestein proved to be very successful again this year.
