Our students from the Bachelor’s degree program “Management & Entrepreneurship” developed a simulation tool for asset management on behalf of ÖBB.
After the extensive final presentation of the simulation tool there was great satisfaction from both sides, our client ÖBB and our students. What were the requirements for such a tool? As a very asset intensive company, ÖBB regularly faces the challenge of implementing the right asset at the right time and at the right place, as well as ensuring optimum operation and maintenance of assets. This complex control aspect should be simplified by implementing and using a simulation tool.
For our students this was an ideal opportunity to get an overview of the asset management of a renowned company and to apply and expand their controlling and accounting knowledge.
This project was very successful, providing the desired output for ÖBB and giving the students special insights into the processes of a large infrastructure company.
