On November 25, marketing experts, scientists and sports personalities came together for the exciting cooperation event with Marketing Club Österreich at Generali Arena.
In cooperation with Marketingclub Österreich (MCÖ), the Communication Management and Marketing & Sales Management Study programs of FHWien der WKW organized an exciting evening at the Generali Arena, which focused on successful sports sponsoring.
After a stadium tour, the hosts Johannes Dobretsberger, Head of Marketing and Sales at FK Austria Wien, and Andreas Ladich, President of MCÖ, welcomed the guests and handed over to Academic Expert & Lecturer Birgit Schaller to lead through the evening.
Business field projects examine the stadium experience
Thomas Schmidt, Head of Marketing & Sales Management study programs, and David Dobrowsky, Head of the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication, jointly presented the results of the business field projects with the Austrian Football League:
“A visit to the stadium has long been more than ‘just’ soccer – family-friendliness, safety and additional offers are crucial to inspire fans!”
Moritz Ehlmaier, Marketing Manager of the Austrian Football League, reported on the implementation of the strategies developed by the students in actual measures, such as the “Fan of the Week” and content that is individually tailored to the respective platform.
Inclusion and funding in sports sponsorship
In the panel discussion moderated by Birgit Schaller, the panellists – two-time kayaking world champion Corinna Kuhnle, Tom Berger, Head of LAOLA1, Kurt Kaiser, Chief Marketing Officer of Burgenland Tourismus, Wolfgang Jethan, specialist for sports sponsoring at win2day, Lisa Makas, sporting director of women’s soccer at FK Austria Wien and Philipp Pfeffer, Head of Marketing at the Austrian Football League – emphasized the important role of sport for society. For athletes and sponsors in fringe sports, however, this means courage and perseverance, as success cannot be measured by key figures alone, but by stories and enthusiasm.
