In the summer semester of 2018, our students worked on three exciting questions from the economy, supported by the Competence Center for Business Controlling and Accounting.
FHWien der WKW is characterized by a particularly high practical relevance in teaching. Thus students have the opportunity to prove their learned skills in real projects over several semesters.
As part of the specialization Controlling from the Bachelor’s degree program “Management & Entrepreneurship” three cohorts presented exciting and challenging problems from our practice partners. The tasks were just as varied as the business units of our clients.
One of the three groups proved its expertise in the field of Audit in cooperation with the S+B Group. Students had the task of creating a template for the notes of the annual financial statements based on IFRS. The second team was involved in the development of a simulation tool for asset management for ÖBB. Crowd investing was also a subject of this year’s projects. The crowd investing platform CONDA commissioned students to analyse factors influencing successful crowd investing projects and thus to develop a strategy for successful campaign controlling.
Highly motivated and committed, our students developed proposed solutions and exceeded the project goals. In the course of an extensive final presentation, the results were presented to our project partners. Great satisfaction on the part of our practice partners and our students on the successful cooperation shows how essential a combination of profound expertise and practical know-how is.
