Why does a company need key figures? What systems are there and what significance do they have from a controlling perspective in the practice of corporate management? These questions were answered in the course ‘Interdisciplinary Case Studies’ at the end of October with students from the Bachelor’s degree program ‘Finance, Accounting and Taxation’.
The lecturers, Markus König and Christopher Liska, used a case study to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of calculation and organization systems for operational corporate management and strategy implementation with the students. The students’ expertise in calculating key financial figures based on the annual financial statements and recognizing cause-and-effect relationships when analyzing the strategy map was in demand.
The final point was a comprehensive discussion of this interdisciplinary case study on the opportunities and challenges associated with the introduction of a balanced scorecard in a company in practice.
