These are our PR talents 2024!

July 1, 2024

Five graduates from the Communication Management study programs received the “PR Talent under 30” award from the industry magazine Österreichs journalist:in.

Thanks to its strong practice-oriented professional education, the Communication Management study programs at FHWien der WKW have already produced a number of PR talents. Many of the graduates hold top positions in the PR industry and in corporate communications. The industry magazine Österreichs journalist:in has awarded a corresponding prize for the second time to bring young talents to the forefront. We are particularly proud that this year five graduates have been selected as one of the top “30 PR talents under 30” and would like to introduce them in more detail:

Internal communications was Sophie Di Bora’s favourite lecture in the Master’s program in Communication Management. After working in the consulting and agency sector, she is now Internal Communications Manager at BIG Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft m.b.H., where she is responsible for new formats for around 1,200 employees. She particularly enjoys the multifaceted nature of her work, where there are hardly any limits. The fact that she is on the list of the 30 best PR talents is not a matter of course for her and honours her especially in view of so many other talents.

The Master’s program at FHWien der WKW, specialising in PR and communication, was clearly her first choice and showed her new perspectives and approaches to solving communication challenges. She still benefits today from the network she built up during her studies. Above all, the business field projects with real clients prepared her well for the real world of work.

As Communications Manager and Deputy Press Officer for Vienna Cemeteries, Barbara Duy is particularly pleased to have been honoured as PR Talent under 30, which highlights her work to preserve the large green spaces with their incredible biodiversity. She particularly appreciates the versatility of her job. She is responsible for external and internal communication, from social media presence and events to press and PR activities.

The graduate of the Master’s program in Communication Management is impressed by the University of Applied Sciences concept because of the familiar atmosphere and the practice-oriented lectures. In particular, the holistic approach to communication, the strategy concepts and the social skills prepared her for professional life. She has particularly positive memories of modules such as “PR” and “Crisis Communication”.

The graduate of the Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication is Content Manager Internal & External Communication at Wiener Linien. In her job, she brings her colleagues – the #TeamÖffiLiebe – out of the shadows and provides communication support for events. She particularly appreciates the diversity and the creativity she can unleash.

After an education in tourism management she decided to study at FHWien der WKW because communication takes place in every context of life and she was keen to deepen her knowledge of it. She particularly remembers the Event Management lecture, in which she helped organise the first Lifeball for young people.

In all stages of her career to date, her structured way of working and setting SMART goals learned from her studies have been particularly helpful. Thanks to the high level of practice orientation, she also learned to make her ideas tangible. She particularly remembers the strong sense of community within the cohort as well as the semester and internship abroad, both of which still characterise her today.

PR is the passion of our graduate of the Master’s program in Communication Management. After completing her degree in journalism at the University of Vienna, where she also worked as a tutor, she worked in a PR agency. At the same time, she started the part-time Master’s program at FHWien der WKW. Her connection to the education sector remained. As PR manager for FH Campus Wien, she communicates topics such as education, science and research under the motto “A lot of good things are happening, talk about them”. The award as PR talent under 30 motivates her to continue on her path.

The Master’s program at FHWien der WKW provided an excellent basis for her successful career. The “Integrated Communication” perspective, the mix of hard and soft skills and the high practice orientation through lectures with renowned lecturers from the field were particularly helpful. During the coronavirus pandemic, she was impressed by the close team spirit with her fellow students. She also takes away efficient time management and stress resistance from her time as a student.

The graduate of the Master’s program in Communication Management  followed his gut instinct when choosing a career and degree program. During his studies, he gained professional experience in politics, SMEs and agencies. Today, he is responsible for external and internal communications at Unilever Austria. He particularly enjoys the transnational project responsibility and the view from a corporate perspective. Being honoured as one of the 30 under 30 PR talents encourages him in his choice of career and he is delighted to be part of a motivated new generation.

The strategic aspect of communication and the high practice orientation of the Master’s program at FHWien der WKW were particularly helpful for his career path. He has fond memories of lectures on issue management and crisis communication. A particular highlight for him was the double degree program that he was able to complete as part of his studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia.

Congratulations to all our PR Talents 2024 on this award!
