Thought about private pension provision yet? Creative campaigns for Generation X and Millennials in a business field project with Amundi Austria

June 13, 2024

In a business field project with Amundi Austria, students of the English-taught Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication developed awareness campaigns for private pension provision with investment funds.

At the end of their 6-semester degree program, the students of the English-taught Bachelor’s program in Corporate Communication put their expertise to the test in their final business field project. In the summer semester of 2024, they created B2C campaigns for generation X and millennials to raise awareness for private pension provision with investment funds.

Real-life assignment from briefing to pitch

After a briefing by the client, the students were divided into six groups. They presented themselves as agencies and spent a semester developing communication concepts that included analysis, strategy, and a concrete measure plan, including budgeting and timing. Communications Expert Sonja Himmer, external lecturer and Simone Zwickl, Academic Expert & Lecturer Strategic Communication Management at FHWien der WKW, guided them through the whole process:

“A project like this is an excellent way to see how students develop. It was incredible to see the progress between the coaching sessions; there was an immense improvement and growth in all groups.”

Professional final presentations convince Amundi

In May, the final pitch took place in front of the Amundi Austria team around Deputy CEO Christian Mathern and Doris Waldhof, Head of Communication and Marketing. The six agencies impressed the client with creative presentations at agency level, in which they showcased their solution-orientated, target group-specific communication concepts.

Christian Mathern, Deputy CEO Amundi Austria, commented:

“This was our second business field project with FHWien der WKW. Once again, we were impressed by the commitment and fresh ideas and, above all, by the professionalism of the students. It was a challenge to select the best concept, as every group developed convincing and realizable concepts for this awareness campaign.”

Business field projects are fundamental cornerstones in the Communication Management study programs. The experience students gain in the various real-life projects during their studies provides them with an ideal basis for entering the professional world after their graduation.
