Andrea Greimel’s Bachelor’s thesis beat numerous other entries to win the Austrian Convention Bureau’s Best Meeting Thesis Award.
One of the highlights of the academic year is the presentation of the Austrian Convention Bureau’s Best Meeting Thesis Award. Students from Austrian universities of applied sciences and universities submitted their Bachelor’s and Master’s theses relevant to the meetings industry. FHWien der WKW was represented three times thanks to the “Congress & Conference Management” specialization in the Bachelor’s program in Tourism & Hospitality Management:
- Andrea Greimel “Meetings in the countryside – A qualitative study of decision factors and congress destination marketing for rural regions in Austria”
- Hannah Schatz “Green Meetings – expensive or actually affordable?”
- Magdalena Muntean-Keil “The usefulness of content marketing on social media for scientific events using the case study of the Conservation Symposium in January 2023 in Schladming”
Presentation and award ceremony in front of experts
The three graduates were nominated in the category “Best Bachelor`s Thesis” category and presented their work at the Best Meeting Thesis Austria event in mid-October. The results of the presentation and a prior evaluation of the content of the theses by experts from the congress and meetings industry on the practical relevance of the topics for the industry led to the subsequent announcement of the results and the awarding of the prizes.
Andrea Greimel, graduate of FHWien der WKW, was honoured with the Best Meeting Thesis Austria Award 2023 in the Bachelor thesis category. In her thesis, she focussed on the decision-making factors and marketing for congresses in rural regions of Austria.
We congratulate Andrea Greimel on receiving the award for the best bachelor thesis!
