Career Day at FHWien der WKW Connected Top Companies with Students and Alumni

35 companies were looking for talent at the University of Applied Sciences’ career fair.

Vienna, October 30, 2024 – For many companies, FHWien der WKW has become a reliable partner that helps them find talent. At the annual Career Day, students and graduates of the University of Applied Sciences for Management and Communication are in particularly high demand among HR professionals. On October 22, 2024, 35 companies attended this year’s edition of the career fair.

Practical relevance makes students highly coveted by companies 

“The fact that so many companies are interested in recruiting our students and graduates as future employees shows us that we are doing a lot of things right with our practice-oriented university education that is tailored to the needs of the economy,” says Michael Heritsch, CEO of FHWien der WKW.

CV check, application photo shoot and tips for salary negotiations

The Career Day offered everything that helps with starting and developing a career. The experts from Stepstone Austria offered visitors help with optimizing their CVs and photographer Tobias Rülke staged the students for their professional application photo. Martina Ernst, a long-standing manager, entrepreneur and expert on fair and equal pay, was on hand with tips and tricks to answer questions about salary negotiations.

Practice-oriented study programs as a trademark

The study programs offered by FHWien der WKW are characterized by their practical relevance. More than 2,800 students are currently enrolled in one of the 20 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in the fields of Communication Management, Digital Economy, Financial Management, Human Resources & Organization, Journalism & Media Management, Management & Entrepreneurship, Marketing & Sales Management, Real Estate Management and Tourism & Hospitality Management.

The practical relevance of FHWien der WKW was confirmed in 2020 by the internationally renowned U-Multirank university ranking initiated by the EU Commission. According to U-Multirank, it is one of the top 25 universities worldwide in the category “Contact with the world of work” – out of 1,800 universities assessed.

FHWien der WKW – University of Applied Sciences for Management & Communication 

FHWien der WKW is Austria’s leading university of applied sciences for management & communi­ca­tion. Its Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs offer more than 2,800 students a practice-oriented academic education. Around 900 people are completing a continuing education program at FHWien. Two thirds of the lecturers come directly from the business world. The close coopera­tion with local companies in teaching and research optimally prepares students for their careers. Since its foundation in 1994, FHWien der WKW has already produced over 15,100 graduates.
