FHWien der WKW Appointed Three Staff Members as FH Professors

Recognition for achievements in teaching and research for Anna-Vera Deinhammer, Cornelia Dlabaja and Tilia Stingl de Vasconcelos Guedes.

Vienna, October 7, 2024 FHWien der WKW has conferred the title of “Fachhochschul-Professorin” (“FH-Professorin”) on three members of staff. CEO Michael Heritsch and Chair of the Academic Board Beate Huber presented Anna-Vera Deinhammer, Cornelia Dlabaja and Tilia Stingl de Vasconcelos Guedes with the certificates at a ceremony on October 1, 2024. Sebastian Eschenbach, Deputy Chair of the Academic Board of FHWien der WKW, gave the laudatory speech. The ceremony was attended by colleagues and relatives of the honorees at the University of Applied Sciences for Management and Communication. Brigitte Lutz, Data Governance Coordinator of the City of Vienna, gave the keynote speech on the topic of “Sustainable handling of data”.

“Employees who are equally competent in teaching and research are the heart of a university and of central importance to its success,” said CEO Michael Heritsch. “The conferral of the title ‘FH-Professorin’ recognizes the contributions Anna-Vera Deinhammer, Cornelia Dlabaja and Tilia Stingl de Vasconcelos Guedes have made to our university of applied sciences.”

The awarding of the title “FH-Professor” by the owner in agreement with the Academic Board is based on strict criteria. The requirements include a doctorate, proof of practice-oriented research activities as well as defined achievements in teaching and further education.

Anna-Vera Deinhammer

FH-Prof.in Dipl-Ing.in Dr.in techn. Anna-Vera Deinhammer is a strategist and integral engineering scientist. She has been an Endowed Professor for Sustainable Real Estate Development at the Real Estate Management study programs at FHWien der WKW since 2023. Her work focuses on the circular economy in the construction industry as well as integral construction research and engineering science. Since 2022, she has been contributing this expertise as Vice President and Director for Circular Cities & Regions at the Circular Economy Forum Austria. She also represents the Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate (ÖGNI) in the World Green Building Council and in the Climate Positive Europe Alliance (CPEA) in Brussels. She has been a member of the Global Advisory Council of the G100 – Group of 100 Global Women Leaders since 2023.

Cornelia Dlabaja

Dr.in Cornelia Dlabaja is a sociologist and holds a doctorate in cultural studies. Since 2023, she has been working at the Tourism & Hospitality Management study programs of FHWien der WKW as an Endowed Professor for Sustainable Urban and Tourism Development. As part of the endowed professorship, she conducts research on sustainable and resilient urban and tourism development and provides scientific support for the City of Vienna’s Visitor Economy Strategy. Previously, she conducted research at the Institute for Urban and Regional Research at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the Institute for European Ethnology at the University of Vienna. At the IUAV University of Venice, she researched the effects of overtourism. Her dissertation on the development of Seestadt Aspern was awarded the Theodor Körner Prize.

Tilia Stingl de Vasconcelos Guedes

Mag.a Dr.in Tilia Stingl de Vasconcelos Guedes is an academic expert, lecturer and project manager at the Department of Digital Economy at FHWien der WKW with a focus on management, digital innovation and communication. She has a solid background in systemic organizational development and communication. In her career, she co-founded a high-tech start-up and led funded projects as well as workshops and seminars on organizational development in Europe and Brazil. Tilia Stingl studied business informatics at the Vienna University of Technology, completed the university course for magazine journalism in cooperation with “profil” and “trend” at the University of Vienna and obtained her doctorate in communication science on the subject of knowledge management. Today, her research interests lie in the areas of systems theory, organizational communication and digital innovation.
