Head of Research Walter Mayrhofer and legal expert Stefan Wrbka were thus honored for their achievements in research and teaching.
Vienna, October 5, 2021 — FHWien der WKW has conferred the title of “FH-Professor” on two employees. Ing. Mag. (FH) Michael Heritsch, MSc, CEO of FHWien der WKW, presented the certificates to Walter Mayrhofer and Stefan Wrbka at a ceremony on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, which was attended by colleagues and relatives of the honorees at the Viennese university of applied sciences. Dr. Günther Dobrauz, MBA, Partner and Leader at PwC Legal Switzerland, held the keynote speech.
“Staff members who are equally competent in research and teaching are the heart of a university and of central importance for its success,” says FHWien CEO Michael Heritsch. “The conferral of the title ‘FH-Professor” appreciates the achievements and merits of Walter Mayrhofer and Stefan Wrbka for our university of applied sciences.”
The awarding of the title “FH-Professor” by the owner in agreement with the Academic Board is based on strict criteria. The requirements include a doctorate, proof of practice-oriented research activities as well as defined achievements in teaching and further education.
FH-Prof. DI Dr. Walter Mayrhofer, MBA
Walter Mayrhofer has been Head of Research at FHWien der WKW since October 1, 2020, and is thus responsible for its entire research agenda. He also heads the Institute of Digital Transformation and Strategy at the university of applied sciences. Prior to this, Walter Mayrhofer initiated and implemented research, innovation and training projects in various functions. Particularly important to him was the establishment of long-term collaborations, which are crucial to the success of such projects. As Head of Research at FHWien der WKW, his main focus is on challenges for companies associated with digital transformation.
FH-Prof. Dr. Stefan Wrbka, LL.M.
Stefan Wrbka joined FHWien der WKW in January 2018 and is responsible for teaching legal topics in the Department of Management. Prior to that, Stefan Wrbka gained about 15 years of experience in teaching and researching law as well as working as a lawyer in industry-leading companies and law firms. He also passed the bar exam. In his research and publication projects, he focuses in particular on the topic of sustainability from a legal perspective and international perspectives of business law.
