Presentation of the study “Made in Austria: Production Work in Austria 2021” by TU Wien in cooperation with FHWien der WKW on October 15, 2021 at TUtheSKY.
Vienna, October 7, 2021 – As one of the first cooperation projects of the newly founded Institute for Digital Transformation and Strategy (IDS) at FHWien der WKW, the results for 2021 of the industry panel “Made in Austria”, which was established in 2019, will be presented as part of the “Forum for Production Work in Austria”. For the third time, more than 100 leaders of Austrian companies from the manufacturing industry and trade were surveyed on the following areas:
- Situation of their own company, market, competitiveness
- Application of robotics and assistance systems
The aim of the annual survey, initiated by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Schlund and FH-Prof. DI Dr. Walter Mayrhofer, MBA at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), is to provide a regular and scientifically sound presentation of the current situation and future expectations of Austrian manufacturing companies, with a focus on the topics of digitalization and automation.
Digital assistance systems have arrived in Austria’s industry
The first results of this year’s study show that digital assistance systems have finally arrived in Austria’s production companies. The increased use of digital assistance systems for workplace learning is also due to the trend towards digital learning triggered by COVID-19.
Walter Mayrhofer (co-author of the study, Head of Research at FHWien der WKW and Head of IDS) will be the moderator of the daylong event. In addition to the presentation of the study results, the event will also feature expert presentations on the following topics, among others:
- Impact of Corona on future production networks
- Collaborative robotics, Industry 4.0, assistance systems and digital transformation
- Organizational and staffing challenges of tomorrow’s production
