Around 800 people informed themselves online about the study programs on offer. After the changeover to distance learning, the Open House was also successfully moved to the virtual space.
Vienna, April 17, 2020 – For a whole day, from 9 am to 7 pm, prospective students were able to gain an impression of the 18 Bachelor’s and Master’s study programs as well as the academic continuing education programs offered by FHWien der WKW on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, via the Internet. The individual study programs were presented in online information events. This was supplemented by general information about studying at a university of applied sciences. Many participants took advantage of the opportunity to ask their questions in the chat.
With a total of around 800 visitors, this short-term offer of the Viennese university of applied sciences specializing in management and communication was a complete success, explains Ing. Mag. (FH) Michael Heritsch, MSc, CEO of FHWien der WKW. “After our Open House had fallen victim to the Corona crisis, we had to quickly create an alternative for all those who wanted to know more about our study programs. The organization and coordination within a short period of time was challenging for the team of our university of applied sciences”, emphasizes Heritsch. “I am all the more pleased that everything went well and that our Online Info Day met with such great interest.”
The entire admissions procedure will also be carried out online in 2020
Before moving the Open House to the virtual space, FHWien der WKW had already converted its entire teaching operations to distance learning. The entire summer semester 2020 will now be conducted online. Due to the corona crisis, the admissions procedure must also be carried out entirely online. The application deadline for university places in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs has been extended to June 4, 2020. For applicants with degree documents from third countries it ends on May 5, 2020.
For prospective students there are further information offers at the end of April
All those who were unable to attend the Online Info Day will have the opportunity to participate in online information events on individual study programs at the end of April. There is also a second date for the general information lecture “Studying at FHWien der WKW”. All details can already be found on the website of FHWien der WKW.
