This is made possible by the cooperation between the Viennese university of applied sciences, which specializes in management and communication, and the Graz-based educational technology company that develops the Studo App.
Everything in one app
In the Studo App, students of FHWien der WKW can access all information and news from their university of applied sciences on their Android or iOS smartphone. “It is very important to us to support our students in their everyday university life,” explains Michael Heritsch, CEO of FHWien der WKW. “This also includes making it as easy as possible for them to organize their studies. With the Studo App, we now offer them a practical companion for this purpose,” Heritsch is pleased to say.
Useful functions such as calendar, e-mail, news feed and chat
The extensive functions of the full version of the Studo App now make everyday life easier for students of FHWien der WKW:
- Users can get an overview of their courses.
- Thanks to the calendar, they can keep track of all the dates of courses and exams for which they are registered.
- The newsfeed provides information about news and events at FHWien der WKW.
- E-mails from FHWien der WKW can easily be read on smartphones.
- The chat offers a platform for exchange with fellow students.
The FHWien services Moodle and FHWien Online are also available in the Studo App.
Stay digitally connected in Corona times
Getting important news about their studies anytime and anywhere is especially important for students in Corona times. “Due to the current situation, FHWien der WKW is conducting the winter semester with a combination of around 30 percent attendance classes and 70 percent online teaching,” reports CEO Michael Heritsch. Against this backdrop, it would be invaluable to be digitally connected with the lecturers and fellow students and to stay in touch. This is where the Studo App can provide useful services.
First partner university of Studo in Vienna
For the Graz-based company behind the Studo App, the partnership with FHWien der WKW represents a milestone: “This cooperation is something very special for us because it is the first cooperation with a university or university of applied sciences in Vienna,” emphasizes Lorenz Schmoly, cooperation manager at Studo. We are very happy about the trust in our app and are looking forward to a close cooperation in the future!”
In order to strengthen its own university brand through the Studo App, FHWien der WKW has decided to adapt the design of the App to its corporate design. “The app is thus even more individually tailored to FHWien der WKW,” continues Lorenz Schmoly.
