RICS Accreditation for Real Estate Degree Programs at FHWien der WKW Confirmed

January 9, 2025

The university of applied sciences sees the accreditation by the renowned professional association for property experts as confirmation of its striving for excellence in teaching and research.

Vienna, January 9, 2025 – FHWien der WKW is pleased to announce the renewed accreditation of its Bachelor’s program in Real Estate and the Master’s program in Real Estate Management by the prestigious Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) based in London. This accreditation confirms the high quality and international recognition of the degree programs offered by the Vienna university of applied sciences in the field of Real Estate Management.

Praise for the practical relevance and high quality of the degree programs

After intensive preparation, a detailed hearing was held as part of the accreditation process with Head of Study programs Klemens Braunisch and Academic Expert Carmen Dilch from the Real Estate Management study programs at FHWien der WKW, as well as with lecturers and students. The curricula of the degree programs and other activities in professional practice – such as project visits in Austria and abroad and exchange programs with international universities – were discussed. Bachelor’s and Master’s theses were also presented and opinions were obtained from lecturers and students. The RICS panel emphasized the quality of the training and its practical relevance as well as the networking with the real estate industry.

Real Estate degree programs are accredited until 2030

After the hearing, FHWien der WKW was informed that the expert team would recommend to the RICS Educational Board that the degree programs be re-accredited until 2030. The official accreditation has now been granted and offers numerous advantages for students: They have direct access to the global RICS network as well as valuable information and resources. They also receive preferential access to RICS membership after graduation, which significantly improves their career prospects.

“We are very proud to offer our students a high-quality education in the field of real estate management and see the RICS accreditation as confirmation of our efforts to achieve excellence in teaching and research,” says Head of Study Programs Klemens Braunisch.
