These are the Nominees for the Journalism Young Talent Award 2024

For the sixth time, FHWien der WKW is presenting the coveted award for journalists in training. The winners will be announced on September 30, 2024.

Vienna, September 12, 2024 – With the Journalism Young Talent Award, FHWien der WKW supports young journalists at the beginning of their careers and offers them a platform to present themselves to the industry and a wider audience. The award recognizes outstanding work produced during journalism training in Austria. It is awarded by the Journalism & Media Management study programs of the university of applied sciences.

The award is presented in four categories:

  • Radio & Audio
  • TV & Video
  • Text (sponsored by “Der Standard”)
  • Multimedia (sponsored by “Kurier”)

The Journalism Young Talent Award is endowed with 500 Euro in each category and is awarded for the first time this year with the kind support of “Der Standard” and “Kurier”.

A special prize will be awarded to students and graduates of FHWien der WKW in the category “Best Thesis”. The submitted works will be evaluated by a jury of experts. It consists of two industry representatives and the respective faculty heads of FHWien der WKW for each category.

The winners of the Journalism Young Talent Award 2024 will be announced at an award ceremony on Monday, September 30, 2024 at FHWien der WKW.

FHWien der WKW – University of Applied Sciences for Management & Communication 

FHWien der WKW is Austria’s leading university of applied sciences for management & communi­ca­tion. Its Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs offer more than 2,800 students a practice-oriented academic education. Around 900 people are completing a continuing education program at FHWien.
