Test supervision via Zoom
How can you install Zoom or check if you’ve already installed it?
Zoom offers the possibility to try Zoom out at the following link: https://zoom.us/test. There you can check if you have already installed Zoom. If not, you will be asked to install Zoom. Follow this prompt and install Zoom on your computer.
How do I get into the virtual exam room on Zoom?
Please join the Zoom meeting (see the link above) a few minutes before your appointment. You will be taken to a waiting room and will then be admitted to the meeting on time. Use your first and last name at Zoom and leave your webcam and microphone turned off at the beginning. In the meeting room you will receive further information on how to take the test.
How are identity checks and test supervision carried out?
The test supervision and the control of your proof of identity is done via Zoom. You will need a computer with camera (webcam) and microphone. Place the device in front of you. Camera and microphone must be activated and pointed at you to enable supervision during the entire test. At the beginning you have your ID card with photo ready for the identity check (passport, identity card or driving license).
After the identity check, the supervisor will explain to you how to pass the admission test. Afterwards the supervisor will explicitly ask you to open the admission test.
You do not have a computer with a camera?
The Zoom video chat platform also works on tablets and smartphones via the “ZOOM Cloud Meetings” app. If you do not have a camera on your computer, install this app on your mobile device. Have your smartphone or tablet with camera ready and go to Zoom on that device. Place the device in front of you. The camera must be activated and pointed at you so that you can keep an eye on this device throughout the test.
Even if the test supervision is done via your smartphone, you will nevertheless need a computer (laptop or desktop PC) with a keyboard and a stable Internet connection to complete the online admission test.
Calculators or other electronic aids
Calculators or other electronic aids are not permitted for the computer-based admission tests for Bachelor’s programs! Headphones or similar aids must also not be used.
For the Master’s programs, a calculator is permitted only for the Master’s program in Financial Management & Controlling. Other electronic aids are not allowed! Headphones or similar aids must also not be used.
Requirements for the admissions test
To take the admissions test you need a computer (laptop or stand PC) with a keyboard and a stable Internet connection.
The online admissions test is opened by clicking on the corresponding link. You may only open the admissions test if the supervisor expressly asks you to do so. Premature opening will invalidate the test. In this case, you will not be provided with another test date.
We recommend using the current version of one of the following browsers for the online admission test:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Safari
On this page you can test which browser version you are currently using: https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/
And here you will find the links to the current browser versions on the respective company’s website: https://browsehappy.com/
The use of older browser versions can lead to problems with the online admissions test!
