Anyone who embarks on the adventure of leadership quickly realizes that social skills are particularly in demand. Highly qualified team members, flexible forms of cooperation, flat structures and new forms of organization require appropriate leadership concepts.

The Executive MBA Leadership course is designed for middle managers, entrepreneurs, project managers at senior level and junior managers with an appropriate track record. The Executive MBA helps you as a manager to successfully manage organizations and achieve your career goals. The continuing education program strengthens your core competencies. It stands for sound academic and practical training.

The aim of the course is to systematically develop and expand your leadership skills. You will acquire practical tools for your leadership work and reflect on your own leadership behavior. Acquire scientific expertise. Your asset: You will learn and exchange ideas at eye level. All students have at least 6 years of practical experience.

The program is designed to be part-time, with a modular structure with blocked courses.

It is offered as a 3-semester program leading to an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree.

Application

In accordance with the qualification profile for lecturers at FHWien der WKW, the teaching team is made up of a top selection of lecturers from academia and practice. The lecturers are academically qualified, have worked in relevant professions and have pedagogical and didactic skills at the highest level.

The program is run in cooperation with the Hernstein Institute for Management and Leadership. The curriculum has a modular structure and concludes with a Master’s thesis and Master’s examination (EMBA). The EMBA Leadership degree is awarded by FHWien der WKW.

Focus & Qualifications

Your path to confident leadership

The learning concept is characterized by a strong practical focus and competence-oriented teaching and learning methods. A combination of attendance units and self-study units is geared towards the needs of working students. The face-to-face units enable students to exchange experiences with expert lecturers with practical experience and with other students. The self-study units are aimed at acquiring the theoretical foundations and are designed in such a way that they promote an immediate transfer of what has been learned into everyday practice and give students the freedom to organize their time individually.

The program offers the opportunity for further education at university level and represents a closely interlinked combination of compact, theoretically sound knowledge and practical training.

  • Completed degree with at least 180 ECTS credits (Bachelor level) from a recognized Austrian or comparable foreign university AND at least 6 years of qualified professional experience, of which at least 2 years in a management role with project, personnel and/or budget responsibility OR
  • at least 9 years of qualified professional experience, including at least 2 years of management experience in the form of project, personnel and/or budget responsibility
