In order to counteract these developments and to retain existing personnel resources, a professionalization offensive in the area of HR Management is required. Focus & Qualifications
Become an HR all-rounder for tourism in 10 months
In 4 modules (each lasting 3 days in Innsbruck, Salzburg, Vienna and online), the program covers practice-oriented specialist knowledge from HR management and tourism. The lecturers are practitioners from both industries on the one hand and experts from FHWien der WKW on the other hand and support the participants in their further development to become specialists in HR management with a focus on tourism.
The program is aimed at employees and managers who want to implement modern HR approaches in their organization, but also for young professionals who want to start their career in the tourism industry.
Participants complete the course as a Certified Expert for HR Management in Tourism after attending the 4 modules and writing a final thesis.

The compact course supports companies in tourism in professionalizing their human resources management and prepares career changers for their new job:
Module 1 "Kick-off: Starting together" (18.-20.9.2024)
Main topics: Personality development and trends in HR
- Day 1: Program introduction, team and personality development
- Day 2: Basics of HR management
- Day 3: Organizational development, new work, process management
Between module 1 and 2: “1:1 coachings” with Heads of Program
Module 2 "Developing organizations and employees” (19.11./26.11./3.12.2024, ONLINE)
Main topics: Generational diversity & the power of communication
- Day 1: Basics of learning and development
- Day 2: Generation management & change management
- Day 3: Basics of communication, body language, rhetoric & appearance
Between modules 2 and 3: Peer coaching sessions
Module 3 "Holding conversations” (14.-16.1.2025)
Main topics: Employment law, interviewing & coaching techniques
- Day 1: Interviewing basics: conducting interviews, employee and feedback interviews
- Day 2: Advanced conversation techniques: coaching techniques, solution-focused questions
- Day 3: Fundamentals of labor law
Between module 3 and 4: Preparation of the final thesis
Module 4 "Designing the employee journey" (18.-20.3.2025)
Main topics: Attractiveness of the company/processes to contemporary employer branding
- Day 1: “A map of positive experiences” – proactively designing the employee journey in tourism
- Day 2: Talents wanted, employer branding – what is really important to us: values and corporate culture
- Day 3: Presentation of final papers, lessons learned and challenges for the future
The program will be complemented by fireside chats with practitioners and tours to best practice companies from the tourism & hospitality industry
